As a writer, I began my career many years ago and integrated that love into every facet of my career, regardless of what I was doing. I learned the value of bartering my skills; I learned that I loved to teach; and I am a great speaker. Combine these attributes and --here I am today. I have learned that when you want to achieve something you can! Developing a mindset and a course of action creates a force within you that can become unbeatable!

I won't say I was the best student in my class, but I loved to learn. Still today, I thrive on learning new things, trying new ideas and expanding my knowledge. it keeps life interesting and gives me something to talk about to friends and family. Knowledge is one thing that we can, not only use for today, but store away for tomorrow. Learning holds the key to keeping our brains active and our mental health in check.

Have you dreamed of seeing your name in print? Do you have a story inside you that NEEDS to be written (and read?) Do you have a children's book you would love to tell? Do you have a spiritual journey that you want to share?
Many people have a story in their minds that never get told!
On January 11 we started a class for anyone who wants to write! This is an informative class with the goal of starting your new year with a new plan. It is completely FREE with the hopes of gathering like-minded locals who want to learn from each other.
Our legacy stories are being lost in the shuffle of day-to-day living. We have already lost the stories of our WW2 veterans, the silence of the Vietnam service men and women, and just the stories in general of our lives.
Telling your story isn't about writing. It's about relaying. In today's modern world of technology, you can tell your story on video, audio, scrapbooks, photo albums, journals and, of course, the written word. So if writing isn't for you, don't let that stop you from sharing your life experience with the generations to come.
Proverbs 102:18 says, "Write down for the coming generations what the Lord has done, so those not yet born will praise Him."

Let’s Get Honest...
If writing was easy, everyone would be doing it. But in truth, it is difficult. Many of us have great ideas in our minds, but how in the world do we get it on paper?
For the last (gulp) 63 years I have been writing. After having my first thing published in Wee Wisdom Magazine for kids in 1962, (at the age of 10), I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. My Name in Print!
But I did do other things. I switched from journalism in college to engineering then eventually sales in the publishing industry where I spent the next 30 years. I continued to write, starting with newspaper editorials, opinion columns, sales pieces, magazine articles for many national and region publications. I was contracted to write four children’s books which sold millions of copies in 4 or 5 formats.
After being an editor and front page reporter for six years, I started my own publishing company where I wrote another 17 books and published 52 books for other authors. Since then, I have co-authored and ghost written even more. I have written lots of business articles, press releases, web content, screen plays, plays and basically, if can be written, I have done it.
In all this time, and the older get, I realize that so many stories are being forgotten, lost or just not written. And the reason is because people just don’t know where to start. The hardest part of writing is, well, writing. Sitting in a room and actually putting words on paper, or in the computer, journal, recorder….you get it. If you want to be a writer, you must write!
